I have this constant thought of, man, how did I miss that growing up in church?  I wrote a Bible study last year on Misused, Abused, and Phantom Scriptures.  It’s amazing to me how many times we use the Bible way out of context, even those who have identified as a Christian for years.  What fuels me is challenging the presuppositions people bring to my classroom, conference, or kitchen table and encouraging them to get in the Word and dig it out with fresh eyes.
